Saarang has been proud of its long-standing tradition to enchant audiences year after year on Classical Nite. Some of the most respected stalwarts of Indian Classical Music have graced our stage and created musical magic.
Saarang 2008 continues this tradition, this year presenting the performance of none other than the legendary Carnatic Violinist, Professor VV Subrahmanyam.
Professor Vadakancheri Veeraraghava Iyer Subrahmanyam, popularly known as VVS, is an established violinist in the Carnatic Tradition. He is known for his flawless playing technique, perfect intonation, and precision in both Shruthi and Laya. Devoting most of his time to research and teaching, he rarely appears on stage nowadays. All the more reason for you not to miss him this Saarang!
VVS Murari, the son and disciple of VV Subrahmanyam, will be playing alongside his father. Having debuted at the age of 10, VVS Murari is now in the third decade of his career and has made a name for himself as an extremely dynamic and talented contemporary violinist.
