Have a flair for film Direction? Acting? Cinematography or editing? This Saarang has great opportunities for you, be it filming on campus or attending workshops on various aspects of film making. Short film making is an endeavour to encourage budding film makers all over the country, to showcase their talent, competing with the best in their cadre.

You may send in your Short film entry, not more than 15 minutes long, and a selected number of teams will be chosen to participate in the event to be held in IIT campus. They will be provided with the required technical assistance like cameras, tripods, lights, editing software etc. to shoot within the campus. The movies will be judged on the final day. Your film should fall in line with the rules laid below.

The prize money for the first three places is quite a handful. Understanding the amount of time and money that a film-maker invests into making a movie, as an added incentive, we plan to screen the winning entries in Sathyam or INOX cinema theatres, (the largest movie halls in Chennai), and invite eminent personalities from the art field to this premiere, as it would serve as a good opportunity for the winners to enter the film industry with aplomb. So its time for lights, camera.... ACTION!
