Light Music Solo

Rules and Regulations:

Prelims

1. Each participant will be allotted a time limit of 3 minutes .
2. Only ONE accompanist will be allowed. The singer may play an instrument him/herself, exclusive of the accompanist.
3. Only a Keyboard will be provided at the venue.
   • Keyboard sequencing is not allowed.
4. No MIDI or back-up tracks allowed.
5. Shruti box is allowed (excluding the accompanist).
6. Registration is compulsory. Only registered participants will be allowed to perform.
7. Registrations will start at the hospitality desk ONE HOUR prior to the beginning of the event.
8. A valid college ID card is necessary for registration.

Finals:

1. Only the selected participants from the prelims will be allowed to perform in the final round.
2. The final round will be held in TWO stages :
   1. Stage 1 will be same as solo prelims (all the rules of prelims apply)
   3. In stage 2:
      • no instrument is allowed.
      • The participant may choose any song, but the time signature will be changed on the spot by the coordinators. The participant will have to sing the song in the new time signature allotted.
      • A backing metronome/rhythm will be provided for the new time-signature.
3. The final results will depend on the participants performance in both the stages of the final round.
