Radio Play

With the launch of so many new commercial radio channels, and listening to ‘Radio-Mirchi’ and FM City becoming a daily chore rather than an occasional indulgence, the age-old radio is indeed back and that too with a BIG BANG! So, why should we at IIT Madras, while celebrating our unique and hugely envied way of life be left behind? To steal the boredom out of your run of the mill radio listening, we decided to bring back the glamorous old Radio Play. Be it during a drive to office, over a cup of coffee with friends or the occasional hour spent outside class when a Prof. actually expects you making diligent notes, who wouldn’t prefer a hot n spicy play to the one hundred and seventy sixth hearing( we hope you would’ve stopped listening by then) of your favourite song? At Radio Play 2006, you can catch the excitement as teams act out whole plays BEHIND closed curtains. One is sure to hear every dialogue known to mankind ranging from corny one-liners to mesmerizing dramatic monologues. Sure enough, we’re doing our best to improve the quality of the radio shows we get to hear! Joining in?

• The participants will be performing behind a screen and hence will not be visible, only heard.
• Each college can send a maximum of two teams.
• Each team will be given 15 mins to perform.
• The teams are allowed to use recorded music, live instruments and any other sound effects, as long as they arrange for it themselves.
• The number of members in a team should not exceed ten.
• A computer will be provided.
• Registration will be at the hospitality desk on a first-come-first-serve basis.
