Choreo Nite

Easily the most awaited and anticipated event of all, Choreo-Nite is next only to the professional shows in popularity. With over 100 colleges craving to perform, the Choreo-Nite lays a perfect platform for the best to battle it out. There is a whole lot of variety ranging from theme based contemporary dances to fast paced adrenaline gushing performances. Whether you are a participant or just a part of the audience, the Choreo-Nite of IIT Madras is an event you’ll hold very close to your heart. College Teams start practicing for the annual event at least eight to ten months in advance and in the last fortnight, the efforts are stepped up manifold to win the coveted title of ‘ Saarang Choreo Team of the Year’. If your feet tap at the sound of music and your heart skips a beat every time you hear the drums, then Saarang Choreo is the place for you to be in. If our past experience is anything to go by, it may just be your chance to get noticed and your ideal launch pad for an item number in Bollywood. So, which one of you is another Yana Gupta in the making?

Not the foot tapping variety? Don’t lose heart. At IITM, we believe that all of us have enough reason to celebrate ‘Life’ and you get your chance to do so by participating as an audience member to cheer your team on stage. After all you’ll be proud to see your team take back the coveted title…

Rules:

• 8+2 minutes of time for each group inclufding theme announcement and the stage setup.
• Points will me awarded for the theme, props used, choreography, dancers performance, group’s synchronization etc.
• Minimum number of students per team 6. Maximum of 25 people will be allowed inside per group including helpers.
• No fire or water or heavy objects are allowed on stage. Indecent costumes will not be allowed.
• Lighting facility is to be availed. One person of the group can supervise else it will be upto the lights group.
• Registration is from 10am to 2pm on the day of the event at the hospitality desk.
• A maximum number of 25 colleges are allowed on a first come first serve basis.
• At registration a list of the dancers names, CD of the song/music to be performed and a contact number is to be provided.
• ID cards must be produced by the dancers at the backstage before the group’s performance.
• Lottery based slot allotment will be followed. Slots will be announced at the hospitality desk at least one hour before the event starts off.
• Any team not ready by the specified time will be disqualified.
• Only one team per college is allowed to participate.
